The Qur'an (Arabic: القرآن, transliterated as 'al-Qur'ān') is recognized as the primary sacred scripture of Islam. According to Islamic faith, it is considered the divine revelation conveyed over a period spanning from 610 to 632 CE to Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Vasallam through divine inspiration, embodying the literal word of God (Kalām Allāh). The text is known by various names, including 'Kitāb' (the Book), 'Furqan' (the criterion differentiating truth from falsehood), 'Dhikr' (the reminder), and 'Tanzīl' (the revealed). It is also described using adjectives such as 'Nūr' (light), 'Hudā' (guidance), 'Mubārak' (blessed), 'Mubīn' (clear and explicit), 'Bushrā' (good news), 'ʿAzīz' (honorable or mighty), 'Majīd' (glorious), 'Bashīr' (bringer of glad tidings), and 'Nādhir' (warner). Within the Muslim world, the Qur'an is commonly referred to as the Mus'haf. Islamic scholars have enumerated approximately thirty different titles and attributes associated with the Qur'an, reflecting its diverse significance and revered status within Islamic tradition.
